To determine the cost of
shipping of a single item, just find the weight of your item found in the item
description area of the auction / website listing and find that weight in the
Weight column of the above chart, determine which country you
are having your item shipped to, and what method of shipping you desire. The
price is the amount found in the intersection of the columns and rows.
Domestic Example:
Say your item has a weight of 9 oz. and you are shipping to a United States
location. The shipping and handling would be $4.95 (via Media Mail), $8.00 (via
Priority Mail). Insurance is $1.00 for the single item.
International Example:
Say your item has a weight of 9 oz. and you are shipping to either United Kingdom
or Australia location. The shipping and handling would be $11.85 (via 1st Class
International Mail (see top half of the chart)), $23.00 (via Priority International
Mail see bottom half of chart). Insurance is $1.50 for the single item.
Domestic Multiple Item Purchase Example:
Say you purchased 3 items and wish to determine shipping within the United States.
Since Flat Rate shipping (via Media
Mail) states that you pay $4.95 for the first item and the rest ship
free, you only pay $4.95 shipping and handling for these 3 items. Insurance
however would be based on their weights. Say the 1st item weighs 8 oz., 2nd
weighs 10 oz., and the 3rd weighs 33 oz.). Insurance would be $1.00 for the
8oz. item, $1.00 for the 10 oz. item, and $2.50 for the 33 ounce item giving
you a total of $4.50 for insurance. So with the shipping and handling of $4.95
+ 4.50 (Insurance), your total would be $9.45.
If you wished to ship this same order via Priority Mail*,
you would have to use the Priority Mail portion of the chart (Bottom Half of
the chart). For the above example the total shipping and handling with Insurance
would be calculated as follows:
First determine the heaviest item. This will determine your base shipping amount.
In our example the heaviest item is 33 oz. So the Priority Mail shipping for
this item falls in the "3 pounds or less" category which makes the
shipping $13.55. The 2 other items would then be an additional charge based
on their weights found in the "1 pound or less" category. For the
8 oz. item, your additional charge would be $2.50 and the same for the 10 oz.
item ($2.50). So the total Priority Mail shipping for this 3 item order would
be 13.55 + 2.50 + 2.50 = $18.55. Insurance for this order would
be $4.50 (2.50 + 1.00 + 1.00).
*FLAT RATE (Media Mail) is only available for
audiobooks, music, books, and videos due to USPS Post regulations. It cannot
be used to ship games, toys, or Health aids (i.e. Vitamins or Nutritional supplements).
Items in this category will have to be shipped via Parcel Post or Priority Mail.
Parcel Post rates are not shown here but will appear on each individual item
description's shipping chart.
International
Multiple Item Purchase Example:
Use the same methodology that is explained
in the Domestic Multiple Item Purchase above. Say
that the order is to be shipped to United Kingdom or Australia. You would use
the top portion of the chart called 1st Class International
for Australia & United Kingdom. The total shipping for the 3 items mentioned
above would be as follows: 33 oz. item is the heaviest so the shipping would
be $21.40. The 10 oz. item would cost (see "Each Add'l Item(s)")
$4.00 and the 8 oz item would cost $3.50. So total shipping via 1st Class International
Mail would be $21.40 + 4.00 + $3.50 =
$28.90.
For Priority International
Mail (use bottom half of the chart), the shipping and handling for
the 33 oz. item is $31.00. The 10 oz. item would cost an additional $4.00 and
so would the 8 oz. item (both fall in the Less than 1 pound
category). So total
Priority Mail shipping and handling to United Kingdom (as well as Australia)
would be $31.00 + $4.00 + $4.00 = $39.00.
